If you did nothing except fill out and use your emergency health information wallet card, you would have dramatically reduced the margin for error in every aspect of your health care. In an emergency, even if you were unconscious, doctors who had never laid eyes on you before would be able to proceed without worrying about drug interactions and allergic reactions. They would have very good clues to help them make an accurate diagnosis.

The four-fold card provides a snapshot of family medical conditions such as cancer, early heart disease or diabetes; allergies to not only drugs but also foods and bee stings; medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes or osteoporosis; current medications and vitamins; immunizations; and specific health information like contact lenses or dentures.
